Database building

Database building and account research

You want a list you can send to without learning from the bounce report which rows were dead.

This page is how the list is built and checked, how catch-all rows are labelled, and what a list cannot give you. Nothing else.

Tell us who you sell to

Name the segment. For firms that qualify, a checked sample comes back first.

Bring the segment you sell to. You hear which sources hold it.

Where the companies come from

Every list you have bought carried the same names as the last one.

The names that were missing never showed up on any of them. They were the point.

The usual wayHow we run it
You buy a list and cannot see who is missing from it.Companies come first, out of government and regulator registries, state licensing boards, trade association rosters, company filings, building and trade permits, job postings, and conference and event sponsor lists. Then the people inside them who can sign.
You get a file with nothing to show which rows were checked and which were guessed. Each row carries its status. Catch-all addresses are labelled on the row, never hidden.

For an AI labelling product selling to FMCG buyers in 35 countries: 28,892 companies, 46,370 decision makers, zero data-vendor credits.

For a US tax services firm, one overnight build took 13,781 companies to 8,378 with a website.

The source category is named. How each is read is not, because that is the work.

Eight rows from a delivered list. Titles and status are real. Names, companies and addresses are removed.

The four steps the evidence supports

You have seen six-step research processes on other pages.

Four steps have an artifact behind them, so four are printed.

  1. Step 1. Define the ICP.

You say who you sell to, at what level, and where. It is written down before a single company is pulled.

  2. Step 2. Find the accounts and the people.

Companies out of the public sources above, then the people who can sign, by title.

  3. Step 3. Enrich and check.

An address for each person, then the check, last, at about $0.0015 an address.

  4. Step 4. Segment.

Rows grouped by what the message will say to them.

The check before a send

Your bounce report is the only check most lists ever get. It arrives after the send. Too late.

The usual wayHow we run it
You find out on the bounce report.Every address is checked before a send.
You send to catch-all domains without knowing which rows they are.Catch-all rows are labelled as catch-all, on the row.

The check asks three things of every address.

Does the mailbox answer. Does the domain accept anything at all, which makes it a catch-all. Does the person still work there. That is the whole check.

On one roster, 21,968 addresses were found by us and 7,963 of them were wrong.

That is 36% of our own guesses, caught for $35.27 before anything went out.

Those 7,963 were never sent, so no bounce was ever observed.

For a US title-plant operator, 431 undeliverable addresses were caught the same way.

On our own London Tech Week 2026 campaign, 1,547 emails went to a list built and checked this way. 20 bounced, 1.29%.

And when it goes wrong

You will want to know what happens when a list we built is wrong. Here is the one time a client counted.

A London AI studio counted the bounces on a list we built and sent him. About 27 of 121. He was right.

It came back rebuilt: 115 contacts, 74 companies. Zero invalid, zero domain mismatches, zero duplicates.

Of the 115, 103 are verified and 12 are catch-all, labelled on the row. You get that split, because a count that hides its uncertain rows is the thing to fear.

Seven contacts could not be proven and were deleted. That cost him four companies.

He was told the pool was exhausted, and the rebuild cost about $0.55.

You get the shorter list.

Where this stops. Public records give you the company, its domain, its filings and sometimes a named owner.

They will not give you verified work emails in volume, direct mobiles, or a complete org chart.

Ask for the rebuilt list's audit. It is on record, row by row.

The list on its own

You can have the list without the outreach.

Some firms run their own sending and want only the rows, checked and labelled. That works.

No price is printed for that either. It depends on the segment and the countries, and you hear it on the call.

How the full engagement runs is on the how-it-works page.

Send the segment. You hear what the sources hold and what the list costs.

The data questions you ask before you buy a list

Where does the data come from?

You can name and check every one: registries, licensing boards, trade rosters, filings, permits, job postings and event sponsor lists, as listed above. All public.

The people inside those companies are found by title, and an address is found for each one.

How do you check an address, and what is a catch-all?

Every address is checked before a send. Does the mailbox answer, does the domain accept anything, does the person still work there.

A catch-all is a domain that accepts every address, so a check cannot say yes or no.

Those rows are kept and labelled catch-all on the row, never hidden inside the count.

What about UK GDPR and B2B outreach?

Business contact data is processed under legitimate interests, which UK GDPR allows for business-to-business marketing when the interest is balanced against the person's.

Every message carries a way to stop. One line to nilesh@prospectspulse.com stops it.

Can you build the list only, without the outreach?

Yes. The rows come to you checked and labelled, and you run your own sending.

The cost depends on the segment and the countries. You hear it on the call.

What can the list not give you?

Verified work emails in volume, direct mobiles, or a complete org chart. On one build the pool ran out and the client was told. He got the shorter list.
